Finding the Right Chin Enhancement for You

Non-Surgical Chin Enhancement is a safe, non-invasive alternative to traditional chin enhancement. The procedure involves injecting a filler such as Radiesse or Artefill into precise areas of the chin in order to increase the length, width or projection of the chin. Non Surgical Chin Enhancement is a 10 minute office procedure that involves no anesthesia and very little pain, redness or downtime. Most patients go back to work the next day.

Dr. Rivkin has pioneered many non-invasive alternatives to cosmetic surgery in order to provide excellent aesthetic results with little or no pain and recovery time. Dr. Rivkin’s non-surgical chin augmentation avoids many of the complications typically associated with traditional chin enhancement.

    Traditional Chin Implant

Surgery always carries inherent risks including scarring, infection, and anesthesia complications. Traditional chin enhancement involves inserting a chin implant. This implant can, rarely, move after surgery, having to be repositioned. If there is a significant infection after surgery, the implant must be removed. In both of these situations, the cosmetic result can be ruined.

    Non-surgical Chin Implant

Non-surgical chin enhancement avoids the basic risks of surgery. There is no solid implant, so therefore no risk of movement or infection. Radiesse and Artefill do not move after they are injected (they become part of the skin) and infections are unheard of with injection of Radiesse or Artefill into this area of the face.

    Traditional Chin Implant

Recovery from traditional chin enhancement typically lasts seven to ten days and involves pain, bruising, and swelling. The majority of the swelling should go away after two to four weeks, but some swelling can last for several months. If the incision was made inside of the mouth you will need to eat soft foods and use special procedures for brushing your teeth. Strong pain medication, ice packs, and special mouth rinses are required during recovery.

    Non-surgical Chin Implant

Non-surgical chin enhancement results in minor swelling and sometimes mild bruising and tenderness. These symptoms should last no more than two to three days. Most of our Brentwood nonsurgical chin implant patients can go back to work the next day with some cover-up on their chin.

    Cosmetic Results

    Traditional Chin Implant

Since traditional chin augmentation involves inserting an implant, the enlargement cannot be completely customized to the shape of your individual face. After surgery, implants can shift, giving an undesirable look. Over the years, as your face changes, the implant remains the same and may begin to look unnatural and no longer blend with the rest of your face.

    Non-surgical Chin Implant

The injectable fillers used in non-surgical chin enhancement are injected in small amounts and in precise locations so that there is total control over the shape and contours created by the procedure. Results last for one year with Radiesse and are permanent with Artefill. Because the material becomes part of your skin, even the permanent implant Artefill should change as your face changes over time and you always retain a natural look.

    Traditional Chin Implant

On average, chin implants cost about $5,000 to 8,000. Subsequent to surgery you will have prescriptions for antibiotics and pain medications, which will be additional costs.

    Non-surgical Chin Implant

The price of Dr. Rivkin’s non-surgical chin enhancement varies with the filler used and with how much of the filler he uses to achieve your desired effect. Radiesse is currently $800 per cc and Artefill is $1500 per cc. Dr. Rivkin uses one to one and a half syringes for most women and about one and a half syringes for most men.
